Pre-Season Strength & Conditioning
Physical fitness is one of the most important aspects of soccer performance. A high level of fitness not only makes you a better player, but limits the chance of injury, leads to higher self-confidence, and makes you more mentally resilient. A team composed of physically fit players can often defeat opponents of greater skill and are better able to apply their hard-work on soccer skills in a game environment. Soccer fitness is primarily composed of 6 areas:Development of these areas BEFORE the season begins is critical for team success. Playing soccer alone is not enough to improve these areas to a level needed for high-level competition. The addition of a strength and conditioning program is a great way to make gains in these areas, as well as avoid injury and overtraining. Several different programs exist to achieve these goals, all of which will provide similar results if followed correctly. The below strength & conditioning program was created by Coach Matt and will put you in a position for success come tryouts and the fall season.
